Burton Agnes Hall and Gardens

Our grounds, woodland, walled garden and woodland adventure playground are open. Takeaway coffee, wood fired pizza (most days) and other food and drink from the courtyard can be enjoyed in our grounds. Plants raised in our gardens are for sale. We are unable to accept cash, so all payments must be made on card, preferably contactless.

Burton Agnes Hall members may come at any time during opening hours, 11am to 5pm daily. Members may bring guests, who may pay the gardens admission, or join as members on the day.

In addition, we are welcoming day visitors, for whom normal gardens admissions apply (including the acceptance of RHS members on Mondays and Fridays, and Historic Houses members everyday). We are working on an online booking system, for the time being please come and pay on the day. We will update our website when the online booking system is live.

We monitor visitor numbers, conservatively allowing for expected Burton Agnes Hall members, to ensure everyone can comfortably maintain social distancing. In the unlikely event that we approach capacity, we may not allow in further day visitors, until others leave. We have extensive spacious grounds, and have accommodated all visitors to date.

On arrival we will ask for the name and phone number of a person in each group, to support the NHS Test and Trace. This information will be destroyed after 21 days, and only used for sharing with the NHS should they request it for Test and Trace.

Your time with us will be spent outdoors. Toilets are open and being regularly cleaned. Hand sanitiser is provided by the admission horse box (which we recommend using on arrival), by the food ordering area, by the pizza trailer, and in the woodland adventure playground. Sinks in the toilets are available for soap and water hand washing. We ask all visitors to act in accordance with government guidance, particularly with regards to social distancing, and personal hygiene. The Hall, maze, cafe, and shops remain closed.

We are keeping 2020 events under review, please check the website and social media for further information and updates.

We will continue to monitor this developing situation and share updates as soon as they are available and thank you for your understanding at this time.
