School Visits

School groups are very welcome at Burton Agnes Hall and there is plenty for children to see and do. The Hall offers guided tours tailored to school groups, and the gardens enable a range of activities; the woodland walk has creepy crawlies and creatures to spot; the walled garden has fruit, vegetables and exotic plants as well as many giant board games and maze!

Opening Times

The Hall is open daily from 30th March to 4th November and 14th November to 23rd December, from 11am to 5pm. Arrangements can also be made to open at 10.00 am if required.

Admission Charges 2018

A special concessionary rate is made for Primary and Junior school groups to the Hall and Grounds of £2.50 per person (adults and children). This should be paid at the reception desk on arrival and cheques can be made payable to 'Burton Agnes Hall Preservation Trust'.

Guided tours of the Hall for groups are available at no extra cost. These take approximately 1 hour for school groups. If your party has more than 30 people, it may be divided into smaller groups.

Upon request, tours of the Kitchen Garden are available with the Head Gardener at no extra cost. These last approximately 20 minutes.

Picnics

There are picnic areas adjacent to the car park and also in the Children's Corner. School groups can also request use of the School Room above the Courtyard Gallery. Ice creams can be purchased for school groups for £1.50 per person, please call our cafe on 01262 490495 to arrange this before your visit.

Shops

In the courtyard there is a Home and Garden shop and Gift Shop, where souvenirs and gifts can be bought. We can create a school pack containing pencil, sharpener and rubber for £2.50 each, which can be pre-ordered by calling 01262 490324.

Access

There is access to the ground floor of the Hall for wheelchairs and a disabled toilet in the courtyard. The grounds, woodland walk and walled garden are wheelchair accessible.

Learning

There is a website available for teachers to use in preparation for visiting Burton Agnes Hall, with ideas for projects and activities with school children. http://inmychair.eriding.net/
